Norway’s King Harald V Gets Hospitalized Amid Stay in Spain

(MENAFN) Harald V has been admitted to a hospital in Spain, according to a statement released Tuesday by the Norwegian royal household.

The palace said, “His Majesty the King (Harald V) was admitted this evening to Hospital Universitario Hospiten Sur in Tenerife.”

Officials indicated that the 89-year-old monarch is receiving treatment for an infection and dehydration, stressing that his condition is “good.” The Royal House further noted that the King’s personal physician will travel to Tenerife to coordinate with local medical staff.

Harald and Sonja are currently on a private winter holiday on the Spanish island.

King Harald has occupied the Norwegian throne since 1991, when he succeeded to the monarchy.
